Beyond Acting

From Summer 2023 to Spring ‘24, I had the unique opportunity to assist Nymphia Wind, the newly-crowned Winner of MTV's RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 16. From handling communications and publicity, planning and managing social media content, scouting photoshoot locations, filming and editing reels and photos, to hand-stitching avant-garde garments, dressing and accompanying her for the show’s MTV premiere events, I learned a lot about how show business works by seeing it up close and personal. This experience will definitely be one to remember for life.

Stage Managing

I am an actor first, but I also thrive behind the scenes—especially when it comes to supporting and uplifting fellow Queer & Asian performers in theatrical spaces that feel more underground and under appreciated.

I’ve stage-managed several sold-out drag productions, including Made in Asia, Studi-Ho Ghibli, and Club East, produced by Shia Ho and the late, great RuPaul’s Drag Race star Jiggly Caliente. These shows featured casts ranging from 10 to 30 performers. And of course, with larger productions, unexpected challenges often arise backstage. Time and again, I’ve surprised myself with how calm and clear-headed I remain in the midst of chaos, and how quickly I can step in to restore order with precision and care.
